Privacy notice
Last updated: October 22, 2026. Draft pending legal review.
Who we are
FDE Council, an independent initiative in formation.
What we collect
Only what you submit in our forms: name, email, organization, role, segment, message and an optional LinkedIn URL. We use it for the purpose stated on each form. We also record when you signed up, the page you used and the consent wording you agreed to, so we can show what you asked for.
To stop automated abuse of the forms, we briefly log the IP address a form was sent from. These entries are deleted automatically after 24 hours.
Email updates and confirmation
When you sign up for updates or for the survey announcement, we send one email asking you to confirm. Until you confirm, we won’t send you anything else. Sign-ups that aren’t confirmed are deleted after 30 days. When you use the join form, we send one email to acknowledge it.
What we don’t do
No advertising trackers, no third-party cookies, no selling or renting of data. The site sets no cookies by default.
Analytics
None at present. If we add analytics, it will be privacy-friendly and cookieless, and we’ll list it here.
Processors
Form submissions are handled by our own site and stored in a database at our web host. Our emails are delivered through an email delivery provider, which we will name here before the forms are connected. The web host keeps standard server logs according to its defaults.
Survey
The State of FDE survey is anonymous; see the survey page commitments. Contact details are collected separately and never linked to answers.
Retention
Contact data is kept while you’re part of the community or until you ask us to delete it. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 30 days, form abuse logs after 24 hours, and technical error logs after 30 days.
Your choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your details, and unsubscribe from any email.
